Thikthakam Kashayam is a classical Ayurvedic herbal decoction. It is used for balancing Pitta dosha, and is especially helpful in conditions involving inflammation, skin disorders, and related symptoms.

  • Darvi / Daruharidra (Berberis aristata

  • Parpata (Oldenlandia corymbosa

  • Trayamana (Gentiana kurroo)

  • Musta (Cyperus rotundus)

  • Bhunimba / Kalamegha (Andrographis paniculata)

💪 Primary Uses / Indications

Tiktakam Kashayam is used for:

  • Skin conditions: eczema, psoriasis, scabies, rashes, weeping / oozing skin disorders.

  • Non-healing ulcers, abscesses, fistula: helps in healing and reducing discharge. 

  • Leucorrhea (vaginal discharge) and other moisture / discharge-producing conditions.

  • Relieving burning sensation, inflammation, redness associated with Pitta imbalance.

  • Gut / digestive support: helping to reduce acidity, indigestion, Pitta-related gut inflammation.


⚠️ Dosage & Administration

  • Adults: Typically about 15-20 ml of Kashayam, diluted with boiled & cooled water, taken twice daily on an empty stomach. 

  • Children: Smaller dose (10-15 ml or as instructed), also diluted and given twice daily. 

  • Duration depends on severity & physician guidance.


⚠️ Precautions & Safety

  • Should be taken under supervision of an Ayurvedic physician.

  • Avoid very spicy, hot, or Pitta-increasing foods while using.

  • If pregnant, nursing, or having serious medical conditions, check with your doctor.

  • Some ingredients are bitter / pungent; if digestive strength is weak, dose carefully.
